There is exciting news for current and future families in COLTON®.
Following voter approval of Magnolia ISD‘s 2026 bond program, the Magnolia ISD Board of Trustees approved a land exchange that moves a future elementary school site into the heart of the COLTON community.
The agreement exchanges approximately 10 acres of district-owned property along FM 1486 for an approximately 16-acre site within COLTON. The additional acreage provides more room for a future campus while placing it closer to the homes, parks, trails, and gathering spaces that make up everyday life in the community.
For homeowners, that’s a meaningful step forward.
A future neighborhood elementary school has the potential to make daily routines more convenient, whether it’s walking or biking to school, shorter morning drop-offs, attending classroom celebrations, or cheering on students at after-school events just minutes from home. It’s another way COLTON continues to grow as a place designed around the people who live here.
Today, students in COLTON are zoned to Williams Elementary School, Magnolia Parkway Intermediate, Magnolia Parkway Junior High School, and Magnolia West High School. While Magnolia ISD will determine the timing and construction schedule for future campuses, establishing a school site within COLTON is an important milestone that supports the community’s long-term vision and continued growth.
We’ll continue sharing updates as Magnolia ISD advances its planning for the future campus.
